World
Thinking Day, which takes place on February 22nd, is a day girls
participate in activities and projects with global themes to honor their sister
Girl Guides and Girl Scouts around the world. Its origin trace back to 1926
when conference attendees decided in the fourth Girl Guide/Girl Scout
International Conference that there should be a special day for Girl Guides and
Girl Scouts. The day chosen was February 22nd, because it is the
mutual birthday of Lord Baden-Powell, founder of the Boy Scout movement, and
his wife, Olave, who served as World Chief Guide.
More
information about the history of World Thinking Day is available at girl
